Each month we’ll send you 5 deluxe sample and travel size beauty products (including the occasional full-size!) You can expect a mix of make-up, skincare, body, and haircare to upgrade your beauty routine.
This subscription box is very affordable. I love the box designs, they are different every single month but always lovely. You get 5 beauty products ranging from skincare, makeup, bodycare, etc. I find most of the products are only sample or travel sized & you don’t tend to get many full size products which is fine but it would be nice to receive more full size products. Least you know you’ll get through them quickly. The products are always worth more than the box costs. I’ve had a few repeat offenders with this subscription box, I.e products I’ve had in the box before which does get annoying. I dip in and out of this subscription box. They pretty much always have offers on with this subscription box such as free product when signing up or 2 boxes for the price of 1 etc. I will continue to dip in and out of this subscription box and I’d recommend it.

I was excited to be gifted October's Birchbox as this month’s theme is Reach for the Stars, nothing to do with 00's throwback S-Club 7 in case you were wondering. Not only am I cray cray 😍 about anything with stars on it (my duvet cover, my door mat, my dressing gown, GlamGeek's logo, you get the idea) this is the first time I've actually had a Birchbox in my hand.
My first impression was crikey that’s a teeny tiny box, however, it’s true, good things do come in small packages.
The presentation box is a keeper, it's not just a box, but a cute pull out drawer which I will be using again...probably to fill up with more makeup, but that's not the point, unlike my previous beauty box packaging this won't end up in the recycling.
So is it value for money?
Hell yes! I sat down and worked out that even though three out of five products were sample size, the contents of the box was still worth around £49. Birchbox is £10 a month + £2.95 postage, and the best thing about the monthly subscription is there is no commitment, no contract, so you can cancel anytime. I've already had my fingers burnt in the past when I signed up to a competitor box and could not get out of the subscription for love nor money.
I was familiar with most of the brands in October's box, Lumene, Ciaté, thisworks, and Vitamasques except for GLOV (a reusable makeup remover pad). We all know that in a beauty box there is always going to be that one random brand you’ve not heard of, however, that’s part of the fun. In 2005 I received a mascara from an unknown brand in a Glossybox, you may have heard of them...TARTE!
Final thoughts...based on the brands that appeared in this months box, the fact there's no commitment and you can cancel anytime, I will definitely be checking out what's in Novembers box of delights.

OMG I am in love!!!
This is my first ever Birch Box and after reading so many poor reviews I am stunned at how amazing it is!! I have received a unicorn themed box (July 2019). It was £10 plus £2.95 p&p, for that you get 5 items. I also received a stunning eyeshadow palette free by unsung the code DAWN, I’m not sure how long that is valid for though.
Overall I’m very impressed indeed and will certainly be keeping this subscription!

I ordered a birch box as there was a 2 for £10 offer on and I really wanted to try it out, when it came the packaging looked really nice however the products inside weren’t that great there was only 5 small items from brands I’d never even heard of that weren’t that exciting things like sun screen and foot cream for cracked feet (things I would never use) I feel like it was a bit of a waste of money I wouldn’t recommend it if defo tried better boxes.
If you want a good subscription box I recommend “latest in beauty” you choose the products you want to try and a lot of them are full sized I really like it, so much better than Birchbox

I signed up to Birch box only 2mnths ago after a year of putting it off and I must say I'm pretty impressed! There are hundreds of reviews that complain they only send sample sized products! This however I have found to be false. I have received full sized product in the march box and the rest in sample sized. I honestly wonder what people are really unhappy with... The products that are sent are sample sizes products that you get to try and if the product is to your liking then you log onto your account to buy the full sized product, but it doesn't stop there because Birch box also give subscribers 10% off the price if you have been a member for upto 6mnths. Then your given 15% off after 6mnths of being a member. The products are great but the box they come in are great too. Perfect for storing small things or using as a jewellery box to take on holiday. I can't wait to receive my April box

I got the February Birchbox, with the free Lottie London Eyeshadow Palette, because you can't have enough eyeshadow palettes.
So I wanted to get Birchbox with the aim of finding some new brands that I didn’t know I liked, as when I’m shopping for make up or skincare I never buy a new brand. I wanted to experiment. And I was very happy, the eye shadow brush is now my favourite brush, its so soft and blends any eyeshadow flawless. The NABLA Lipstick is moisturising, matte and I’m lucky that I got a colour that I like and will wear a lot. The LOC Shimmer Shadow is easy to apply and a beautiful colour. The Coco & Eve masque gave my hair a new lease of life, I don’t like to use too much as I don’t like my hair to feel heavy with product. But the coconut was a luxurious smell and it washed out of my hair easily and left it feeling nourished. The shower gel.. well shower gel is shower gel. I wasn’t too thrilled about this product. But I like the packaging and it smells good too.
I have read a few reviews claiming that Birchbox is not good value for money and that they only send you samples to encourage you to buy the full size products from the website. But they cost £12.95, what do you want?! I added up the RRP of the products I had received in the February Box which came to £43.90. I also double checked the information given in the leaflet, and researched the price of the products myself. I found them to be correct. Therefore, its simple you are paying £12.95 for £43.90 worth of products presented in a beautifully designed box.

I have been very happy with the selection of products I have received each month in my Birchbox but was let down this month as nothing suited my fair skin. However, the product sizes are usually quite good some are even full size. If you are thinking of subscribing try a short subscription first to see if u actually do like what you get.

So this month was my first and last month subscribing to this beauty box! I was so excited to open my box and I can't explain how disappointed I was. I received a range of tiny skincare samples that would probably last one use. They were all so small you could have picked them up from stores for around £2-3 each. I felt like they focused mainly on skincare and I didn't really receive any makeup, other than a £6 tiny bronzer which they claim is full size.
I looked in the leaflet to try to match product prices to the samples they had sent me and in the leaflet, they just showed the full sized versions of the products I had received and the prices they would have. I don't think this is helpful at all and shows their products are not as good for the money you pay as you would like to think. Other subscription boxes like glossy box, show you exactly what the price point is for each of the products they send you and don't hide any of this information from you.
I think this box is overpriced and are giving you tiny samples they probably receive for free so that you go and buy the full sized products. Save your money girls this is a waste.

I only subscribe to Birchbox I’ve been doing it nearly a year and it’s these little boxes that have got me so invested in beauty and skincare.
I love that I can try out brands I’ve never heard of and I have received some great things I’ve gone on to buy and now use every day.
I have considered changing to another beauty box subscription but yet to decide. I love the VIP discount in the Birchbox shop and do purchase quite a bit from there so that’s an added bonus. Also get a free delivery and free gift code when you review the box so I always do that then buy a sheet mask or two, the free gifts I’ve then received have been as good as the products in the box!

I am such a sucker for beauty boxes. They make me so happy!
If Glossybox, Look Fantastic and Birchbox had a contest for the prettiest box designs, Birchbox would probably win. They are really quite striking (just look at the February box!), and I adore that the box has a drawer you can slide out. It is so useful as you can make so many things out of them, you can turn it on its side and use it to hold your brushes (whilst displaying the beautiful box artwork), or glue several on top of each other to make drawers for your make up, and so on.
Beyond that, I don't think they are the best subscription box even though they are the oldest. They are really sample heavy, seem to use a lot of the same products and just don't really captivate me the way other subscription boxes do. I would be delighted if someone gave me a box still, or even a subscription, but long term there are better ones out there. I appreciate that the box is cheap and we shouldn't expect the world (I do like trying samples), but they are similar in price to the other aforementioned subscription boxes who have bigger named brands and more full sized products. I'm just not as in to Birchbox as I don't think they can compete with their rivals for quality and value.
I do check on them each month to see what they have, and it's likely at some point they will have a box that I think is worth buying as a one off again, but I'm afraid they aren't going to steal me away from Glossybox.

I had a subscription for over a year and every month would get samples that would total about 2 pounds or less. Once in awhile I would get something nice and useful but generally it was not worth the money.
The last three months were so dire that I just gave up. I will say it was fun getting it in the mail each month but my makeup box just ended up with a load of stuff I will never use and useless samples. I really wanted to love it...just couldn't justify it.

I love birch boxes.....a little treat to look forward to each month with some great products. I often found thouh that there were a lot of products I didn't use. I had the idea of sharing my subscription with a friend. We split the price and the products and it works perfectly for us. Everything now is used so is perfect for us!

I was subscribed to this for a year and so got to try 12 different boxes. A lot of the boxes I did really enjoy, but I found that only a few products for each box I was excited about. A lot of the time I’d get the same or similar products. I got about 8 eyeliners/brow pencils, that weren’t that different. Saying that though there are some products that I received during this time that I still use and love so I’d say it’s worth it to find some good products. Plus it’s only £10 a month (£12ish with postage)

January’s box was a bomb! Although I see loads of people complain about Birchbox on their Facebook page I’ve personally never had any problems with them.

birch box is kind of a hit and miss if i'm being honest. I have been lucky enough to not have ever received an item twice unlike some people, but the items themselves are sometimes lacking. The shipping is atrocious some times, at least three times i've had to wait over a month for my box which was bad because it was no surprise as everyone was on social media showing what they had gotten.
its a no from me to be honest.

As my title would suggest, this is a perfect box! But only sometimes! I have only received 4 boxes (So 4 months worth) and while I have been pleasantly surprised by the themes and the contents, those being young, fresh and new I also have to say sometimes you only receive sample sizes. This is not uncommon but also not a downside to birchbox as they do say on the website that sample sizes are one of the key points of the business plus the sample sizes are larger than you would normally find. Full size products are common also and I find I do receive more popular products, plus at Christmas they gave you chocolates!!!
I think this is definitely a younger persons subscriptions however, you can tailor the box to your own age, gender, skin, hair etc so it may work for anyone based on their picks.
