Hello! I'm Amy and I am a Consultant for The Body Shop at Home and an aspiring Makeup Artist and love all things beauty and skincare! I love writing product reviews and I’ve recently started my own beauty Vlog on YouTube called Amestarz Beauty, which I’m having so much fun with! For me, makeup is about having fun and bringing out the person you want to be and have the empowerment and confidence to achieve anything you desire.
✨The Body Shop’s Body Butters are an essential for dry skin! I love that there are so many different varieties, but this Christmas edition is literally my all time fave! It’s so popular and it comes round just once a year, so it’s worth stocking up whilst you can! The vanilla is such an amazing scent it smells good enough to eat! 😍I can honestly just sit there and keep feeling the texture of it in the tub - it’s really thick and dense! They rub in and absorb very well and doesn’t leave you feeling greasy. There’s only the one size available in this edition, but it lasts so long it’s no biggiemore... 😊
✨I bought this in the sale at Feel Unique for £6, usually £28. I am absolutely gutted FN has discontinued them as I wanted to stock pile them at that price, as although I love them, I’m a bit miffed they cost so much! The pieces are a good size for underneath the eye and feel nice and comfortable. However, even though they are easy to apply, they are quite messy! There is so much serum in the jar, which is awesome so you can pat it into your skin. As they contain caffeine, they are amazing to reduce eye bags. I will definitely be buying more (although I wish they were £6!)
✨Thank you so much @glamgeekclaire for sending me this product for review of the week! 😘 This takes pride of place on my desk at work to keep my face looking fresh and hydrated throughout the day. It works really well to set makeup too! A lot of face mists just wet your face, whereas this is a really gentle, fine mist, which means it doesn’t make your makeup budge. It keeps my face feeling and looking hydrated, without making me look greasy or oily. Plus, there is no harsh fragrance, meaning it’s great for sensitive skin. Love this!
✨I religiously use this EVERY DAY! It keeps breakouts at bay without drying your skin out, plus it’s great for anti ageing by smoothing our fine lines. This is perfect for acne prone and extremely oily skin and works well alongside Benzoyl Peroxide if you use it, as salicylic acid neutralises it, so it’s the perfect alternative. It works a treat on hormonal spots on your chin or jawline and prevents them breaking out into a full whitehead. I used to use The Ordinary’s products, however I do find that they pill, which this one doesn’t at all. This is literally THE BEST product for acne/oily skimore...n, but with the added benefits of anti ageing!
✨This works amazing for my tired looking acne prone skin! I’ve been using the Niacinamide Toner, however this works really well when my skin is tired looking, to give it the refresh it needs. As well as the caffeine, it contains witch hazel, which is amazing for acne prone skin. Since using this combined with my Origin’s Salicylic Acid moisturiser and Revolution’s Niacinamide serum, the only acne I tend to get now is hormonal, which is amazing from where it was! The bottle is super big, and it’s only a tenner! 😍 It is going to last me ages! Love that Revolution are cruelty free which is a bimore...g win for me. Based on this, I am definitely going to try more Revolution skincare products.
✨I bought this whilst on sale at Beauty Bay on a whim. I’ve already tried the liquid lips, so I thought I’d give a bullet Lippie a go. Sadly, the formula is quite dry, so I struggled to apply it to my lips, leaving the colour and shape quite uneven. When it is actually on, the formula is really nice and light and feels really comfortable on the lips - and gives a good satin finish. However (and this may be me because I am terrible for touching my face!) I found that after a few hours, it was all over my chin and flecking up to my nose - not a good look! I think when I next use it, I will use amore... lip brush for a bit more control. The packaging is super cute, and actually looks like a medication pill, which I think looks interesting. Sadly, I wouldn’t buy again as I think it’s a bit too much mither.
✨This product is horrible! I was initially drawn to the fact is has Hyaluronic Acid in, thinking is would be a nice way to hydrate my face with my makeup still on. All is does is leave a white film on your face, which doesn’t dissipate and just leaves you looking weird! It also smells horrible, so not a pleasant experience! Also don’t love that Garnier are not cruelty free. Save your money and invest in Mario Badescu, Revolution or Body Shop mist, your skin will thank you for it!
✨This is a nice everyday perfume - the scent is quite fresh and crisp, and mainly fruity. It is long lasting on both skin and clothes and not a lot of touch ups are required. It’s super affordable and a little bit does go a long way. The bottle looks good on my vanity and is quite easy to store. I would probably say it’s more suitable for the summer. Even though I like this, it’s not my all time fave, as I prefer more musky scents.
✨I have very dark brown hair and I’ve been trying to get it to go purple for ages, and thought I would give this a go due to the lifting element. I’ve tried all the traditional Live ones, as well as this one, but after application of this one, my hair just looked brown with a hint of purple. Also, my hair felt much more brittle after using this, than compared with other hair dyes. Plus, this is not a cruelty free brand, which sucks. Not for me I’m afraid!
