I purchased this foundation based on a recommendation from a family-member that it was wonderfully high coverage. I was going through a terrible time with acne so this was music to my ears. Unfortunately this foundation felt heavy - almost like I was putting putty on my face - and broke me out worse than any other foundation ever had. This was one of those products that would create more blemishes, so that you would need to add more product - and so the cycle continues.
Although it is very hard to fault NARS on the fragrance free, alcohol free, oil-free formula, my expectations of NARS is very high. When I purchased this I believed the ‘Radiant’ in the product title would mean I would have glowy skin. What ensued was quite a flat matt look. Although this lasted quite well, it did start to break down toward the end of the day on my chin. I also found that this foundation could only be applied with my fingers as a brush would leave streaks and a sponge soaked up about half the product you dispensed. Overall I was underwhelmed.
I’ve always been a supporter of cheaper concealers because they ‘did the job’. I then realised that I’m spending loads of money on great skincare ingredients but popping low quality concealers on my problem areas! This concealer has quality ingredients, no fragrance, high coverage and is easily blendable. What a dream! I did experience slight undereye creasing - not sure if this is due to the creaminess or my age!
When I started wearing makeup - I used to use the usual low pigment, need-to-be-sharpened-but-you-always-lose-your-sharpener eye pencil liners. When I found this beauty, I was hooked. I have been repurchasing this as my ONLY black liner for about 10 years. This stays on all day, NEVER flakes into my eyeballs, will stay put if I cry or sneeze and doesn’t irritate or sting my very sensitive eyes. Very affordable, and in my opinion, better than many high-end alternatives.
Although the colour of this lipstick is rich, plush and pigmented - within 20 minutes my lips looked puckered and flaky. Unfortunately this also did not fade gracefully at all. When I ate, the inside of my lips flaked off, but I couldn’t remove the dry edges of the lipstick (even with soap and water), so I ended up looking like I had very thick, dry, dark lipliner on. Layering on additional lipstick to try and even things out, also did not look great - the layering made my lips look very old. Very disappointed.
I have extremely sensitive acne-prone skin and was on the lookout for a setting spray without alcohol or synthetic fragrance! I’d given up the search for a primer that doesn’t break me out - but this works perfectly as both a primer and setting spray. It doesn’t break me out, and has a natural coconut scent. I can’t say that my makeup lasts longer because of this product, but I generally love the way it melts all my products together and makes it look like natural skin.
I’ve always had the opinion that you get what you pay for in makeup, so I’ve been searching for the perfect mascara in high-end brands. Tried Paradise and it is soooo much better than any high end mascara I’ve ever used. The brush seems almost exactly like Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara and the formula is amazing. You get wow volume lashes for a fraction of the price! The only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is because the formula in the tube dries out quite quickly.
