It's a pity I can't give this three and half stars because it's slightly better than a three-star product. This primer makes my skin look healthy and helps my foundation go so much further. BUT - it does cause my skin to break out if I use it too frequently, so I choose to alternate it with another one (Stila 3-in-1).
This primer also has a bit of a weird scent (car air freshener?) which I could do without. I'm going to persevere with this primer though, because I love the way my skin looks when I use it.
I decided to give MUR another chance after being a bit disappointed by the Division palette (the greens were chalky and looked grubby on the skin) - and I'm super glad I did! The Basic Mattes palette is fantastic with really soft, wearable colours. I'll definitely be buying the Norvina dupe (Visionary?) as I've read some great reviews.
This is such a pretty brush to have on your dressing table and it's super soft and lovely to use. But what I love most is its versatility. I wrap an elastic hairband around the base of the bristles to form a closer dome and this makes an effing brilliant foundation brush! You can then take the band off and clean the brush really easily, and it washes really well. I'll definitely pick up another one.
This was a very pleasant surprise! I wasn’t expecting much but this strobe cream is a more subtle and grownup product than the small price tag would suggest. I apply a thin line on my cheekbones, chin and along the bridge of my nose and then apply my foundation. It’s very gentle but gives my skin a visibly dewy glow and it sits very well on my skin. It’s a brilliant neutral shade too; not too orange and not too pink which is often a problem with cheaper products, but this cream punches waaay above its weight. At four pounds it’s definitely worth it.
Probably doesn't need another review saying how great it is, but oh well. This stuff is great. I have oily, spot-prone skin so I was nervous about trying this, but in fact my skin has fewer breakouts than before! It's totally build-able and I think I could wear this quite thick without much of a problem. It feels heavy at first and takes a minute or two to set but once it does it feels as though you aren't wearing anything. Most foundations look great for a few hours then start to look worn and weird; once this stuff settles your face looks just as good after twelve hours.
I was really excited to try The Ordinary's products as I'd heard amazing things, also I'm a sucker for nifty packaging. The results were okay, but I really didn't like the way my skin felt after using this toner. It really stung a lot (like nettles!) and left my skin feeling sticky and not clean for ages. I love an exfoliating toner but I think I'll try something different next time. At least the product was well-priced so I don't feel like I've wasted too much money. Sorry! :(
This is perfect no-nonsense makeup: minimalist packaging, no perfume, no colour, it's barely there. Brilliant. A couple of dots on each eyelid and my shadow stays put literally all day. It's survived gardening, hiking, long work days and sweltering summer nights. Also, I'm a total grease-ball and it coped with my oily lids no trouble. Buy it.
The coverage is pretty good on my dark circles and occasional redness around my nose, but it seems very heavy and oily, and it does cake if you use too much. I only dot it around my eyes but I still need to buff it out a lot and set with translucent powder, and after that it sits much better on my skin.
I think next time I'm going to try something more sheer and buildable.
A fantastic 'your skin but better' product! This is the perfect product for you if you hate wearing loads of makeup in the summer but feel you need a little something to even your complexion out. I have fairly blemish-prone skin but the coverage of this is so good that I only need a wee drop and my skin looks super healthy and glowy. Don't be put off by the small shade range either, it's super natural. It's also non-comedogenic and has an SPF so it is a brilliant buy for holidays, and it's totally idiot proof as you can apply with your fingers in a few seconds. Great if you're late for work!
I found this product wasn't really enough to wear alone as I'm prone to spots and an uneven complexion, but used as a primer this stuff is ace! It's really light and disappears into my skin, which I much prefer to matifying primers which often leave my skin looking flat and dead. it lets my skin breathe and gives my makeup a dewy look, and used on the eyelids it works as a decent shadow primer too, even on a greaseball like me! You really don't need a lot either so a bottle will last you a long time.
