I've always had pretty normal skin but when I introduced a prescription retinoid into my evening skin care routine, my skin became dry and painfully sensitive. I received a sample of this mask in a bonus time promotion and was amazed by the difference it made to my skin when I layered it over the retinoid cream at night. It is a thick and slightly sticky overnight mask but my skin feels brilliant in the morning. I know the retinoid sensitivity was always going to fade with time but this has made my skin much more comfortable and I've managed to avoid the redness and peeling many people expmore...erience when starting retinoids. I've now bought a full size tube and I use it most nights.
This is one of those products which seems to work better now that I'm at the end of the tube. I've never quite fallen in love with this concealer but I'm about to use it up. I quite like the texture but I'm not sure the colour really does much for my skin tone or dark circles. This does blend well with the lighter water based foundations I prefer. The applicator is frustrating because it delivers far too much product - especially when the tube is new. I've spent far too much time fiddling with brushes and fingers trying to apply a conservative amount of this concealer but the chunky doe fmore...oot applicator seems determined to turn me into a 20yr old youtube influencer slathering concealer over most of my face.
So. Bobbi Brown discontinued my favourite Eye Brightener and I've been on a hunt for a good replacement ever since. This isn't perfect but is a decent concealer. The shade range isn't brilliant and the texture is a bit thick and sticky but the price is great - compared to similar brands, you get three times as much product for the same price. I sheer this out with a bit of Clarins Beauty Flash Balm and it brightens my eye area without sinking into lines or emphasising texture. It also blends well over the very light foundations I tend to use.
I feel like I'm the only person ever to dislike this primer. It's not awful but I find the texture offputting (it feels like a sort of silicone putty) and I feel like it sits awkwardly on top of my skin, not really blending into my skin or mixing well with makeup. It might be because I use light, water based foundations but if I want a blurring primer, I reach for Bobbi Brown's mattifying primer or Hylamide's HA blur instead of this one.
I received a sample of Nude Pop in a bonus time promotion and loved it so much that I bought a full size tube of it a few days later. I was happily surprised for a few reasons. I've never enjoyed Clinique lipsticks and I tend to give away any freebies I get. I have also not done well with the current trend for nude lips. At 41, any nude lip colour I've tried previously has made me look quite ill. In contrast, the Nude Pop makes me look tanned and emphasises my blue eyes. The colour isn't as pale or as brown as most nudes and the formula is wonderfully creamy. The finish is glossy and more...very pretty but it isn't sticky and feels more like a balm than a lipstick. I also love that I can put it on without a mirror when I'm rushing and running late. I have a feeling I'll be wearing this all summer.
This is a perfect primer for me. I'm in my 40s and my skin needs the tightening and brightening benefits of this product. Also, unlike most primers, this doesn't sink into lines or exaggerate pores and texture.
A few tiny dots of this smooths my skin out pre makeup without leaving a noticeable layer of product on top of my skin. I blend foundation and/or concealer over it quickly before it sets. It also makes my foundation stay put all day - even if I only use a tiny bit of powder or setting spray over it.
I'm not sure this would do much for people with younger skin but it helps me more...achieve a healthy, polished looking natural glow while using very little makeup.
I bought this after seeing lots of positive videos online. I've been playing with it for a week now and I can't seem to get it to work for me.
This looked pretty and held up best when I used it over a primer - except that my skin felt uncomfortably dry and itchy within three hours and I was desperate to wash it off. I tried adding a couple of drops of oil to it the next day but I couldn't get it to set down. It was actually embarrassingly cakey and cracky that day and I kept having to touch it up with powder while I was out. I ended up washing it off before dinner and replacing it withmore... my trusty Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua for the evening.
I've now tried this with various combinations of primer/oil/powder/setting spray/blur stick etc and nothing seems to make this both comfortable and flattering.
I'm a little bit sad. I haven't used a drugstore foundation for more than twenty years and I was initially hopeful this one might help wean me off of my rather expensive Bobbi Brown/Chanel foundation habit. This might work well for younger skin but my mature skin seems to need the extra TLC that seems to only come with a hefty price tag.
I bought this for holiday because I love the NYX HD eye base as an everyday shadow primer. I was really disappointed. Unlike the HD eye base, this doesn't dry down - it remains sticky and tacky and really difficult to blend shadow over. It also goes on too white to look natural and it doesn't blur imperfections like the HD eye base. I agree that this does keep eye makeup on all day but I feel like it takes too much work to get the eye makeup on over it in the first place.
I'm so happy I found this. I have oily lids and could never get eye shadow to work for me properly until I started using this. I like the way it blurs away discolouration and prevents creasing all day. I also like the way my eye shadow looks even after a long day. I don't like the packaging - the wand seems a little bit pointless- but the price is brilliant. I'm on my third tube and this has become a must have in my makeup bag.
A decent liner. I have it in a bronze colour (05 super) that looks pretty on my lower lash line where it stays put all day.
I'm not as keen on this liner for my top lash line. It gives a very subtle line on the top lid and it can take some work to get a solid dark line. It also seems to disappear if I attempt to smudge it out. It doesn't last long on my top lid even if I use a lid primer and powder. I haven't tried it in my waterline because it isn't dark enough. Because the gel is so soft, I sharpen this frequently to get a good point and will need to replace it soon.
