Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water

This is my first primer water spray product I have ever bought. I didn’t think such a product exits. I use it before I apply foundation and I noticed my foundation sits so well on my skin. I sometimes use it as a setting spray but only if I’m battling with very bad dry skin in that day. I do use a lotion primary as well as this spray primer. You could say it’s a cooling mist too as it does cool your face during the hot days.

Firstly, packaging is basic but very typical of Smashbox & price point wise it’s more on the expensive side. This is a 2 in 1 product, it can be used as a primer and as a setting spray however I’ve only ever used it as a primer. As it’s a liquid you really don’t need to use a lot of it, a little really does go a long way. When sprayed the mist is quite fine. It’s so cooling and refreshing when applied. My skin type is dry, dehydrated and sensitive and this product put much needed hydration back into my skin and in regards to my sensitive skin it didn’t cause any adverse reactions. It creates the perfect base ready for makeup application. It absorbs into the skin very quickly. It can also be stored in the fridge which I haven’t done however I can imagine it would be even more refreshing if stored in the fridge. I also really like the fact you can purchase a mini size of it which is what I have and it’s lasted me for ages. I would definitely recommend this product and I would repurchase it!

Its a nice primer/setting spray. It's actually 3 in 1: hydrating spray that primes, sets and refreshes makeup. It keeps makeup through whole day and especially is my life saviour on double shifts at work when I'm wearing makeup for 12+ hours. Makeup stays all day, doesn't move around. I can feel its hydrating for my skin. I use it to prime before my foundation on top of any liquid primer, and then I use it after my makeup is done to set all in. The only tiny disadvantage is the spray itself. Sometimes it can spray too messy and leave individual wet marks on your face, especially when it's running low. But nothing that wet beauty blender can't fix. After spraying I just tap with my sponge to make sure no spray marks left. It doesn't bother me as its 5 seconds fix, so I'm still happy with the product. Would definitely recommend.

I bought the Try Me Face Primer Set and it included a relatively decent size ‘travel’ size bottle of the Primer Water. The product it’s self works ok. Sets my make makeup ok. My main problem is the spray pump which is horrid, horrid, horrid! It has quite a barrow field of spray, so I need about 5 sprays to cover my face. It dumps so much product on my face that it’s running down my face making me look like I’ve just come in out of torrential rain. It takes ages to dry, but that might be due to the quantity of product. It works, but not a pleasant sensation.

This is the most amazing thing I’ve ever come across. A spray which primes the face and sets the makeup too! And it is great at doing both. Although referred to as a 2 in 1, I’d say it’s more of a 3 in 1 as it also works well as a refreshing spray to wake you up when you’re tired!!! A really effective product, I’d have to recommend to everyone!

So this primer works as a primer and setting spray. I have dry skin I was told this would help keep my face hydrated. I have to say it definitely does the job. I personally like to use this as a primer along with the smashbox photo finish primer then use it as a setting spray aswell. It really helps hydrate the areas where I use setting powder and it makes my makeup look less flakey. I spray a lot on my face but sometimes I still find that I need to respray after about 5 hours. Thats not a huge issue as every time I respray my skin looks extra hydrated again and the bottle is pretty big so theres no fear of it running out too quickly. Its slightly pricey but worth it, and a must have if its on sale.

I use this as a primer (As well as a pore filling one) and a setting spray like a makeup sandwich! Stays all day and has a nice light scent, I do prefer a stickier finish as I feel like make up sticks more.

I've been trying out all of my primers to get a good comparison. This is one of the first I ever used and was drawn to it by the quick spray application. It is very quick to apply and soaks in fast. It leaves the skin slightly tacky, which I don't mind - it's all about the longevity question. As a primer, this didn't stand up to Smashbox's best seller or Benefit's porefessional. After a few hours, the rouge of my cheeks was coming through my foundation. I can't attest to it's finishing spray powers - a plus point is this is a 2 in 1 - but as a primer, I wouldn't recommend it over others.

A strong spray but doesn't run out fast. Can be used as a primer or a setting spray and makes your base smooth and long lasting. would buy again and is worth the price.

I use this all the time when i go to my friends house and i am in dying need to purchase it! Its great as a primer as its wuick and easy to apply and doesnt dry out the skin, it refreshes the face and gets it ready for foundation. I didn’t give it five stars because i like primers that smooth and fill my pores which this one doesnt, but, ignoring that, it is a great product!
